We are very excited to be able to re-launch one of Mavrakos most legendary pieces of candy, the Marshmallow Eggs. After disappearing for 25 years, the Marshmallow eggs are back…just like before! Creamy marshmallow covered in Mavrakos milk chocolate are carefully packaged in a 12 piece box.
Starting February 25th, we will have the Mavrakos Marshmallow Eggs available in all 8 Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company stores, all 23 Dierbergs Markets and online at http://www.mavrakos.com.
Since our re-launch in October, we have had more requests for the Marshmallow eggs then any other products manufactured by Mavrakos. We are very excited to re-introduce St. Louis to a favorite of the past.
Madeline Mavrakos Heart Box

John Mavrakos, founder of the historic chocolate company that bears his name, was a true romantic. In the early 1900’s, he created what was to become a signature symbol of love – the heart-shaped box of chocolates – and named it for his beloved wife, Madeline. Today, that heart assortment has been recreated and packed with all of Madeline’s favorites including: bon bon creams, golden butter caramels, milk and dark chocolate chocolate M’s, cherry cordials, and a marshmallow heart to symbol their love. A Mavrakos family heirloom returns

Classic Mavrakos box over 50 years old
The holiday season has been filled with lots of delicious chocolates and happy customers at the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company stores. One day in particular was very special, when we were graced with the presence of an old family heirloom, passed down from two generations by a local St. Louis family. It was a black satin, hand painted MAVRAKOS candy box. We are unsure of the exact date it was sold, however we do know that this box dates nearly a half century back, given that it used the old Mavrakos logo. This is also the first time we have seen the old Mavrakos logo. The lady who brought in the box commented “I knew there was a reason I needed to keep this box my whole life…it has finally made its way back home.”
Mavrakos has had the pleasure of listening to hundreds of stories that have come in by phone, email, and by mail. We are very exicted to be launching our Valentine’s Day and Easter chocolates soon!

Mavrakos Dark Chocolate

Just in time for the holidays, we have released another Mavrakos favorite! Originally famous for the Mavrakos breakup (in milk and dark chocolate), we have launched Dark Chocolate M’s, after much success of the Milk Chocolate Ms. Not all dark chocolate is the same. In fact, there are two types of dark chocolate, ‘semi-sweet’ dark chocolate and ‘bitter-sweet’ dark chocolate. The level of dark chocolate depends highly on the Cocoa Content in the chocolate. Mavrakos dark chocolate is a 54% Cocoa Content. Not too much, not too little…JUST RIGHT! Founder, John Mavrakos crafted his dark chocolate this way so it would never over-power the centers, but still strong enough so you can taste that delicious cocoa. Both types of chocolate are filled with antioxidants, so we say Eat to your health!

“I was born and raised in St. Louis but now live in Nashville, TN. I recently made a trip back ‘home’ to be with family and was in Dierbergs when I came across a table display with Mavrakos boxes. I nearly fainted right then and there. I was so excited, like a kid in a candy store (no pun intended…he he). I immediately grabbed a big box of Pecan Burrs and held them to my chest and wonderful memories came flooding back. My grandmother lived in Clayton on Central Ave., and I fondly remember the store at the corner of Central and Forsyth.
